Safety & Security Films
Ordinary glass will break and splinter. Countless individuals are injured or killed by lethal flying glass projectiles each year during natural disasters, hazards and accident. The best preventive measure taken at the time of construction would be the application of Safety & Security Films.
These films are produced from a super tough polymer and formulated adhesive to hold window glass in place and mitigate the damage from shattered glass. The thickness of the films range from 4mil (100 microns) to 21mil (525 microns).
Do keep in mind the Law of Diminishing Returns when considering safety films installation. The increase in effectiveness will slow down as the thickness increase. The adhesive plays a critical role and they are specially formulated to withstand pressure and provide higher tensile strength.
Although no safety and security film guarantees absolute prevention of glass shattering, potential users will benefit from the high level of safety brought by this invisible protective coating on their glass.
Safety films can limit glass hazards in the event of:
- Natural Disasters, such as Earthquakes and Hurricanes
- Explosion
- Terrorism
- Vandalism
- Robbery
